In this talk I will discuss an analogue of the celebrated Yau theorem,  in the context of the generalized K\"ahler geometry introduced by Gates-Hull-Roceck and Hitchin and Gualtieri. The main analytical tool is the so-called generalized K\"ahler  Ricci flow,  introduced and studied by Tian--Streets. This is a joint work with J. Streets.
